Program Description
HBPD Community Connect is a recurring text messaging program operated by the Harrisburg Police Department. Messages may include public safety, severe weather, road closure, missing person, school safety, emergency, and community notifications based on the categories selected by the subscriber.
HBPD Community Connect is an informational service. It is not a replacement for 911 and should not be used to report an emergency. Call 911 when immediate police, fire, or medical assistance is needed.
Consent and Enrollment
You enroll by selecting text message notifications, entering a mobile number, affirmatively checking the SMS consent box, and completing the confirmation step sent to that number. By enrolling, you confirm that you are authorized to use the number and agree to receive recurring automated text messages from the Harrisburg Police Department through HBPD Community Connect. Consent to text messages is not a condition of receiving email notifications.
Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on public safety conditions and the notification categories selected. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile service plan. Contact your mobile carrier with questions about your plan.
Opt Out and Help
Reply STOP to any HBPD Community Connect text to unsubscribe. After you send STOP, you may receive one confirmation message and will receive no further program texts unless you enroll again. Reply HELP for help, or contact Harrisburg Police Department at (870) 578-2530.
Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Wireless coverage, carrier filtering, device settings, outages, and other conditions outside the department's control may affect delivery. Delivery is not guaranteed.
Privacy and Changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how subscription and mobile information is handled. The department may update these terms or discontinue the program. Material updates will be posted on this website with a revised effective date.
